PETITION
Petition to Offer a Subject occurs when the subject is not scheduled to be offered during the semester, but a student or group of students would want the subject to be offered and enroll thereon based on their personal reason/s. The student or group of students shall be known as petitioner/s.
Reminders;
Petition of subject may be allowed with the following conditions:
. The subject to be petitioned has no pre-requisite.
. The pre-requisite/s has/have been satisfactorily taken.
. The subject to be petitioned is not offered for non-graduating or graduating student.
. The Tuition Fee Rate to be used for petitioned subject shall be equivalent to the 1st year rates. Likewise, the laboratory fee rate shall be the same in the existing policies.
Step 1: Petition FormThe Petition form may be claimed at Room 1101. The student will need to fill out the form and will need to sign the form by the petitioner and the Department Head. Petitioners may be allowed to file their petition before the start of classes up to within 14 working days from the start of classes to the Office of the Registrar.. A subject may be approved to be offered if there are at least 30 students in a class during the regular semester and 25 students for summer term, provided a classroom and/or laboratory and a qualified instructor is available.. In case the petitioners are numbering less than the minimum approvable number or a classroom and/or laboratory and a qualified instructor is not available, the petitioners shall be informed of the disapproval by the Registrar.Note: All petitions are subject for approval by the Registrar.
Step 2: Result of Petition. The Office of the Registrar will contact the student regarding the result using the number provided in the form by the petitioner. The petitioners must secure an agreement for Petition to Offer a Subject to the Office of the Registrar. Proceed to the qualified instructor and Course Coordinator for endorsement to the Office of the Registrar.. In case the petitioners are numbering less than the minimum approvable number or a classroom and/or laboratory and a qualified instructor is not available, the petitioners shall inform the Registrar that they will not proceed with the petition.. However, when a classroom and/or laboratory and a qualified instructor is available and the petitioners voluntarily agree that they will jointly share the cost of the minimum number of class size after being informed of the adjusted cost, the Registrar may approve the petition and endorse the petitioners to the Collecting Office for payment of the adjusted tuition fee.(Note: The fewer the number of petitioners, the adjusted tuition fee would be higher.)Note: If the petition of subject is approved, the student will need to secure an adding form.
Step 3: Schedule. The student must proceed to Room 1101-D to look for the Academic Scheduler to secure a Subject Schedule.
Step 4: Adding of Subject
. The student needs to proceed to the Office of the Registrar (Room 1101), to present the schedule provided by the scheduler and the adding form. The student needs to fill out the adding form signed by the student, guardian, and Department Head.The designated staff will add the subject to the system and will sign the adding form.
Step 5: Payment. The petitioners will proceed to the payment in the Collecting Office Room 1111-1110 (Counter 3-5). All petitioned subjects shall be paid in cash or in installment basis upon enrollment by all the petitioners.
